If you’re finding yourself reach for something cozy in the afternoons, I’ve got just the thing for you! The best part about this “latte” is that it’s easy to whip up and doesn’t contain caffeine, which means it gives your nervous system some time to calm down. Lower stress and cortisol levels help hormone balance. Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory spice which lends warmth to this drink and is great for your gut as well. Add in some collagen for even more gut benefits and some protein. The dried rose petals? Completely optional, but why not? We deserve pretty things!

In case you’re wondering why this latte doesn’t contain cow’s milk, take a look at my “What’s the Deal with Dairy?” post. If you need a sweet and satisfying snack that won’t spike your blood sugar to go along with this, be sure to check out my Seed Cycling Chocolate Bliss Balls!

Hormone Friendly Golden Mylk Latte

For 1 latte:

1 cup almond milk or plant-based milk of choice –  I really like the Malk brand
1/4 tsp turmeric powder – I love Spicefix’s quality and pureness
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder – I buy this from Spicefix as well
2 tsp raw honey, or more to taste
A pinch of black pepper
Optional: a scoop of collagen powder – I love Ancient Nutrition
Optional: dried rose petals to sprinkle on top

If you have a coffee machine that provides steamed mylk, add all ingredients to a tall mug and add the steamed mylk. Use a frother to mix. No worries if you don’t have a machine, you just add all ingredients except the rose petals to a small pot and heat on medium heat for about five minutes. Whisk while things heat up and pour into a tall mug when done. Add dried rose petals if desired. Take a sip. Feel that warmth in your belly? So good.
