You may have heard of Methodology, a luxury nutrition program that delivers ready to eat and heat-and-eat meals to your doorstep. Methodology promises a wide variety of high-quality produce, pasture raised meats, sustainable seafood, completely vegan meals, and 30+ grams of protein per meal. Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? I have tried many different meal services (Daily Harvest, Sakara, Factor, Trifecta) and as a certified health coach who is always looking for ways we can nourish ourselves better, but also more efficiently, I was definitely intrigued by Methodology.
I signed up to review Methodology meal delivery two separate times and received entirely different menus. Adequate protein, a wide variety of plant-based foods (you need 20 to 30 different plant based species, including spices, in your weekly diet for optimal gut health), sustainable packaging, and organic / pasture raised / high quality meals are at the top of my list when it comes to eating for hormone and overall health. Here’s what I thought of Methodology:
Price
Ok, let’s get one thing out of the way: Methodology is pricey. It’s more expensive than any of the other meal delivery services I’ve tried out there. If your plan is to feed your entire family, Methodology is likely going to be cost prohibitive for most. But here’s the thing: eating healthy is an investment. One of the best investments you can make since saving money by purchasing cheap, highly processed food is almost a guarantee that you will be battling chronic illnesses or hormonal issues further down the line. With all that being said, I thought Methodology was worth the investment for a single person. All their meals are designed for an individual and can be ordered as a reset, meaning that you try them for anywhere from one to eight weeks. There’s no subscription or long-term commitment so you can try it just for a week to test it out first.
Customization
One of the best aspects of Methodology is that they don’t make you follow a particular diet and allow you to customize your meals according to how you eat. You can choose between meat, seafood, vegan, or a combination, which I LOVED. I picked a combo of seafood and vegan meals the first time and meat and vegan the second time. Each meal is gluten, dairy, and refined sugar free, which is excellent for bringing down inflammation and helping to balance hormones. Methodology also allows you to choose whether you want breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack, or just lunch, dinner, snack. The snack consisted of these protein truffles, which were DIVINE. I opted for just lunch, dinner, snack, since I find it pretty easy to come up with high protein breakfasts – check out what I tend to whip up here. You can also choose your meal portion size – either ~450 calories, which is standard, or ~550 calories, which is considered large. I opted for the standard portion size, since that’s in line with my daily calorie requirements. It ended up being plenty of food. But, what about the taste??
Taste & Quality
I loved every single meal I ate. Seriously. Methodology is designed for people who either want to expand their palate while eating the rainbow and getting in the necessary nutrients, or, already have an appreciation for high quality, gourmet food and want to simplify their lives by reducing meal prep and cooking time. I fall into the latter category, but, as a health coach who cooks a lot and creates her own recipes, I was still blown away by the variety and quality of the food. So what exactly did I eat? Here’s an example of a bowl:
Wild Rice Quinoa Harvest Bowl + Sweet Potato Cakes:
Turmeric Tahini, Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts & Apples, Pomegranate Hazelnut Delicata Squash, Micro Mint
Amazing, right? I know so many people don’t think that you need “all that” in a meal, but think about the nutrient density, plant diversity, and BALANCE of protein, healthy fats, and fiber that you’re getting in here. I also loved that each meal made me venture outside of my own cooking comfort zone and gave me loads of ideas for future recipes. I was thoroughly full and satisfied after each meal. Methodology includes probiotic tonics with each meal, which help to reduce blood sugar spikes (also key to great hormone health) if you drink these with water before each meal. The tonics were as luxurious as the meals, with my favorite being a pomegranate one. I love that even the tonics were carefully crafted, with key ingredients, such as adaptogens, to boost brain and body. Ceremonial matcha is also included and is a staple in my daily diet as well. I find that the L-theanine in matcha nicely balances out the caffeine that it comes with. L-theanine is great for calming the nervous system and bringing down anxiety, PMS, and giving you a boost of steady, even energy. It’s a nice touch and can be used in the morning by itself if you’re doing intermittent fasting (which I didn’t do – I like a nice, hearty, protein rich breakfast post-morning exercise). The quality of the meats and seafoods is also excellent. The biggest takeaway for me was that I felt like I eat a ton of food and each meal was still only around 450 calories. Pretty eye opening what happens if you nourish yourself with real, whole foods. I felt fully taken care of, happy, stable, energetic, and even lost a pound in a week (not a ton, but a healthy amount). I never once felt deprived and by the end of the week my sugar cravings were definitely gone.
Packaging
I found Methodology’s packaging to be beautiful and very sustainable. I love that they use plenty of glass jars along with plastic, but re-usable containers. Your meals come with a set of cutlery, which made the whole thing seem even more exclusive and gourmet. It dawned on me that part of what you’re paying for is an EXPERIENCE. The experience of taking care of yourself from the inside out, with minimal effort and maximum luxury. The whole experience reminds me of what celebrities probably feel like on a day to day basis.
Customer Experience
Methodology seems to understand that customer experience really is everything. The second time I ordered their meals, I received an email asking if I wanted to personalize any meals so I could swap them out. The email included a very useful calendar with details of each meal. I opted to swap some seafood out for vegan meals and received a response within 24 hours, clearly confirming what I had asked for with a visual, color coded table. I really appreciated the promptness and accuracy of my orders (thanks, Justin!) and the communication about deadlines, what to expect, and how to unpack the food.
Overall, I would absolutely try Methodology again after a vacation, or whenever I feel like I’ve got a crazy busy week coming up and really need my meals to be nourishing, healthy, tasty, hormone friendly, and DONE. What are your thoughts on Methodology? Think you’ll try it sometime?

Great review! It’s always helpful to get an in-depth look at meal delivery services before trying them.Vegan Meal Delivery
Helpful review, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I’ve been using Methodology while on my GLP1 journey and honestly it’s been such a help. When you’re on these medications it’s so hard to find food that actually works with how your appetite changes and the food quality from them is really impressive, like way better than I expected. The portions are perfect for when you’re not that hungry but still need to hit protein goals and everything is designed specifically for people on semaglutide or tirzepatide which makes such a difference. Yeah it’s definitely pricier than cooking yourself but for me it’s been worth it because I’m not stressing about whether I’m getting enough nutrition or if something’s gonna sit well in my stomach. Just wanted to share since I know a lot of people struggle with the food side of things on these meds
Thanks for sharing your insights! With GLP1 usage on the rise, I’m sure many appreciate you sharing your experience with this.
